I created this site to help me identify plants blooming near my home in Oakland, California. When I first moved here in 2014 (after living in San Francisco for almost 2 decades), I'd never seen so many plants before and became obsessed with identifying all of them. While this site is mostly a testament to my OCD, it was also my attempt to create a resource for my local community.
